Interior designer Vijay Deorukhkar was born in Mumbai in 1972. He has received a degree in Interior design from Sir J. J. School of Arts in 1994 and posses more than two decades of work experience in commercial and residential interior design.

International exposure:  He has worked with top interior design firms in India and abroad including Sankalpan architects, Assarain Entp Muscat, Nirmal lifestyle real-estate company. He has attended the seminars and exhibitions in Germany, Hong Kong and Dubai adding to global exposure. These manifest in meaningful design that influence his projects with global design sensibility and strong emphasis on detailing.

Studio: Following more than two decades of working for multinational firms and series of independent projects, he founded his design practice in 2017. The studio is based in Thane, Mumbai, with project ranging in scale from commercial to residential projects.

He is always thankful to Sir J. J. School of Arts for imbibing the culture of art and design in him through enriching campus, heritage architecture, grand classrooms of Arts and crafts and faculties. Easels with painted canvas, fresh smell of linseed oil, out door sculptures as a resting place for pigeons, metal furness, ceramic pottery, textile looms. Sunlight piercing through large window panes, big arches, lush green lawn and painted canteen. Everything absolutely everything can be summed up as Art inspiration.

He is also thankful to the people he worked with and for, for showing confidence in him and to all loved ones who taught him without knowing it and whom he unwittingly learn from each day.
